7 Tips to Feel Better During Times of Uncertainty

These are uncertain times for all of us, some more than others. If you’re struggling to manage your emotions here are 7 tips to help you feel better.


1. The first step is to ACCEPT the uncertainty. 

Some things we can control, other things we can’t, and that’s OK.

Some things we can control, other things we can’t, and that’s OK.

Also notice what meaning you are attaching to events as they unfold. Other people will project their perceptions onto you but YOU get to choose what meanings to attach, so make them as positive as you can. 

Your thoughts will set the tone for your day.


2. LEARN, and look for what’s GOOD.

Instead of asking "Why is this happening?"

Ask yourself “What can I learn from this? What is this trying to teach me”?

Practice looking for what’s GOOD. 

The more you look for it, the more you’ll be able to see it.



What do you want to do differently? 

What can you change to make things better for you and others? 

This is a wonderful opportunity for growth if we use it.


4. Be extra careful what you FOCUS on. 

Focus on what’s GOOD. 

Focus on what you CAN control instead of what you CAN’T. 

Focus on YOURSELF. 

Focus on the present MOMENT. 

This will help you relax about the future and alleviate your fears.


5. Always MOVE TOWARDS the vision of what you want, NOT away from what you don’t want. 

For ex., if you’re staying home due to coronavirus, don’t stay home “to avoid getting sick” stay home “to take care of yourself and stay healthy”.



This can be an opportunity to do things differently, and enjoy and develop new positive habits.

You might want to rest more, move more, drink more water, stock up on fruits and veggies, reduce social media, seek more reliable sources of information, make yummy meals, do some decluttering, put on some music and dance, laugh more, start a yoga or meditation routine, take an online course, read that book you have been meaning to read, use technology for effective online work meetings, bond with your family in new ways, have online coffee dates with your friends, etc. 

The answers are inside you.


7. Whatever you do, do it out of LOVE

Approach yourself with love. Approach others with love.

Approach even the changing circumstances with as much love as you can manage. 

Spread love, compassion and kindness.
